There is an application process and adoption fee. ----------- Rosie is a 4-year-old Yorkie/Maltese mix who weighs around 10 lbs. Rosie has a calm spirit and a unique personality. If you ever thought to yourself, I would love to have a dog who acts like a cat, Rosie is your girl! She is content to lie near you on the couch; however, she is not a lap dog. She will lay at the foot of the bed, on the second pillow, or peacefully in her crate at night. Her favorite toy is a Nyla bone and the occasional piece of crushed ice. She is proudly not a high-maintenance pup. Rosie came from a hoarding situation with over 29 dogs in the home, hence her unique personality. Rosie really watches and learns from the dogs in her foster home. We prefer her adoptive home have another small social dog, not larger than 15 pounds. Rosie has good energy around other dogs and often gets into the dog beds or an open crate with them. She looks to the other dogs to see how they react when experiencing something new. Rosie is cautious around new people, especially men, so it will take time for her to warm up. We are asking for an all-female home for Rosie. During her time with us, she has shown she only responds to women and will not go out the door with a man to go potty. She's not an attention seeker but will definitely capture your heart. She has a peaceful presence. Whoever adopts Rosie will need to understand her “breeder pup” issues and be willing to give the space she needs. Rosie has come so far, but it has taken time.
